Our Gears

The bottom-up #EiA has been proposed, on August 2020, as synergetic gear for achieving the EEA and revitalising ERA by the Global StartupCities initiative.

EEA Gears

The EEA as leader for interpersonnel “soft” skills with special focus on inclusiveness for problem-solving, synergetic collaboration, and innovation (creativity) as leitmotive for empowering EEA from 01/01/2021. The Global StartupCities initiative suggests three priorities implementations:

1) Inclusiveness for problem-solving strategy. To combine the Skills Agenda for Europe and Erasmus+ programme as game-changers for accelerating new opportunities between rural-urban areas.

2) Synergetic collaboration strategy. Every year, to reinforce the Widening participation with a dynamic EEA's list* of a group of top 100 students from each EU Member State for accelerating synergies between them. The aim is to have the EEA's list from ALL Member States and from other countries associated to the EU Horizon Europe programme.

*The EEA's list will be updated with the new annual Erasmus+ beneficiaries of mobility (key action 1) and cooperation for innovation (key action 2) with a maximum of 50 ones coming from each country capital and/or other national big innovation hubs. The selection priorities are mobility learners (students, trainees, and young people) and mobility of students involved in transnational strategic partnerships, and capacity building projects.

3) Innovation strategy. The EEA needs a synergetic gear #EiA to close the gap and to have a stronger EU innovation value chain for matching top students, top researchers (ERA), and top entrepreneurs & innovators (#EiA) for example to deep-dive into the green economy.

ERA Gears

Open innovation and synergetic cooperation between young researchers MUST be our keywords and leitmotive for revitalising ERA from 01/01/2021. The Global StartupCities initiative suggests three priorities implementations:

1) Openness strategy. European associations of young researchers have to boost a strong cOAlition S (the Plan S consortium) and ERA will co-create new metrics to advance a scientific career as well.

2) Synergetic cooperation strategy. Every year, to reinforce the Widening participation (i.e. Teaming, Twinning and ERA Chairs) with a dynamic ERA's list* of researchers with a group of top 100 researchers from each EU Member State for accelerating synergies between them. The aim is to have the ERA's list from ALL Member States and from other countries associated to the EU Horizon Europe programme with the goal of applying for future ERC's grants and specially for the ERC synergy grants.

*The ERA's list of researchers will be updated with the new annual ERC beneficiaries with a maximum of 20 researchers for each ERC's grant type plus a total limitation of 50 researchers coming from each country capital and/or other national big research hubs. In most of the cases, where the ERC beneficiaries are not enough, the top 100 will be completed with future SoE (Seal of Excellence) for ERC grants and/or top researchers funded by national research agencies.

3) Innovation strategy. The ERA needs a synergetic gear #EiA to close the gap and to have a stronger EU innovation value chain for matching top researchers with top entrepreneurs & innovators for example to deep-dive into environmental and medical research.
